The Bhawanipur Education Society College held an interactive session with the renowned speaker Navya Naveli Nanda, joined by Nikhil Taneja, a writer, producer, storyteller & and Mr. Yash Pise, from YUVA. This was YUVA’s last roadshow among the 24 shows held all across the different cities of India. This interactive session took place inside the Jubilee Hall on August 3 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. All the students attending the session were asked to register themselves and wear a badge given by the youth organisation, Yuvaa. The interactive session commenced with a brief introduction about the guests delivered by the anchor, who talked about the youth organisation, Yuvaa which gives opportunities to young people to start their own businesses, with a special focus on aspiring women entrepreneurs. Soon the guests were felicitated by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah. He talked about the contribution made by Mr. Nikhl Taneja towards the development of the youth organisation, Yuvaa
Then, Mr. Yash Pise interacted with the audience and showed a video highlighting the important initiatives taken by Yuvaa for the betterment and development of the youth of India. The video showed the struggles encountered by young people pursuing different kinds of passions. The effect of social media engagement on the present generation and the need for the creation of a safer space for self- expression were the main matters that were accentuated in the video.
Mr. Nikhil Taneja along with Ms.Navya Naveli Nanda and Mr. Yash Pise talked about their journey of building their own business and the failures that they faced while expanding their business all over the country. Navya shared her experience about starting her own business at the age of 21 and the barriers she had to break in order to prosper and grow as an entrepreneur. All of them talked about the constant pressure one has to deal with in their workplace and how sometimes a lack of opportunity can hinder one’s growth. They also talked about the importance of failure and how it can shape one’s personality and help them grow.
A quick rapid fire was conducted where they answered specific questions related to Yuvaa asked by Mr. Yash Pise. Each question was addressed by Ms. Nanda & Mr. Taneja, with utmost sincerity & passion. They ended the interactive session by sharing their past experience of visiting the college five years ago and so much has changed ever since. All the attendants were asked to share their business ideas with Yuvaa by scanning the QR code shown on the screen.
After this, Navya Naveli Nanda and Mr.Nikhil Taneja expressed their gratitude towards the College for giving them an opportunity to create awareness about women’s entrepreneurship and the problems women face while building their own businesses.
Towards the end of the first half, the students were shown a video about street harassment faced on a daily basis. Mr. Yash Pise showed a small presentation that taught the students the 5D methodology to deal with street harassment in public spaces. The 5D methodology consists of five strategies, namely, Distract, Direct, Document, Delegate, and Delay. All the students were asked to scan the QR code and take a five-minute training by taking a stand against street harassment, as explained by Yuvaa. After successfully submitting the form, all 150 student participants were given a gift hamper from Loreal Paris. An open mic event was also conducted by the Yuvaa where many students shared their stories and life experiences. Their stories were recorded, and they will be featured on the official YouTube channel of Yuvaa. Overall, it was an enriching conversation on entrepreneurship, self-growth, social change, and much more.
