A workshop on TEDx was organised in the college on February 8, 2017. The idea was to help gain essential knowledge about the importance of such an organisation and how the students in Kolkata could help invent a TED branch in Kolkata.
TEDx is an international community that organizes TED-style events anywhere and everywhere celebrating locally driven ideas and elevating them to a global stage. Such organisations have already been discovered in other states like Mumbai and Hyderabad probably which is why the students of The Bhawanipur and a few more from other colleges like Loreto College, were keen on learning more about this fascinating association and its boons.
Therefore, for the same reason we called upon our chief guests from none other than the TEDx association. They detailed us with as much information regarding TED and how we could make a good TED start-up. They also spoke about the TED show which will soon come up in STAR TV anchored by the famous actor in the Indian Cinema, Shahrukh Khan. The language of the show would be Hindi which is a great way of experimenting to see how great it will do under media as TED is basically an English speaking association.
Therefore, under the guidance of our wonderful chief guests and the main contributors of the event, Mr. Vivek Verma and Mr. Lokesh Nathany students were able to gain utmost knowledge about TED and how they can go about it. Therefore, I would like to thank our College Dean, Prof. Dilip Shah for bestowing upon us this wonderful opportunity of being able to attend the workshop on TED and know as much about it.
