In a series of knowledge workshop, BESC organized a three day workshop on MS-Excel during 19-20-21st November 2015. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Aswini Bajaj. Mr. Bajaj (CA/CFA) is an expert on Excel and is a corporate trainer for companies like Eicher Motors, Tata Interactive Systems etc.
Co-ordinated by Prof. Vijay Kothari and Prof. Divyesh Shah, about 100 students attended this workshop. The work shop was highly interactive and all students were required to bring their lap tops. They were given Excel file to practice the various short cuts and functions.
On day 1, Mr. Bajaj started with basics of excel and explained many useful functions like Sorting, Indexing, Filter, and text formatting.
On day 2, we learnt about logical and conditional functions like ‘RANK’, ‘AND’ ‘IF’. and its uses for various MIS.
On day 3, we learnt important functions like ‘lookup’, ‘Pivot table’ and graphs.
Mr. Bajaj also taught use of keyboard short cuts for all functions which is necessary in speedy and efficient working of Excel. The workshop successfully demonstrated powers of excel and how important it is for everyone to have a grip on it.
The session ended with vote of thanks and felicitation of Mr. Aswini Bajaj by Prof. Dilip Shah – Dean of students’ affairs.
