March 29th, 2019. Society Hall. The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) has always had a sizeable number of students who are active in the stock markets – some to the extent of being day traders. While it is a fact that most of such students hail form family backgrounds with very strong links to the markets, the number of students making their initial forays into markets too is substantial. For both types of stock market enthusiasts, the college has always conducted seminars and workshops so that the students may better understand the working of the market as by unraveling its mysteries, they can embrace a better understanding of the basic economics that fuel stock prices, comprehend the fundamentals of economics. Stress has always been given on allowing students the opportunity to interact with the doyens of the markets so that the students may take their lessons first hand from those who are at the thick of things, one on one interaction being preferred to pure academical pedagogy.
The seminar on virtual trading was no exception. Arjun Chakravorty, the President of Track Invest took the students through the basics of investing, explaining from the trading ring the world view – of why stocks move the way they do, the reasons that sway the markets, the opportunities that such movements accords to the diligent and the ways in which even average students can make the best from the way different forces play out.
The visiting faculty was welcomed to the BESC and felicitated on behalf of the college by Divya Udeshi.
As many as a hundred students had crowded in to hang on to every word that was said, all eager to make the transition from being belly up to being ballistic. The speaker talked about the various trading strategies, explaining in detail not only the underlying reasons behind their adoption but also how that can be utilised to maximise the returns on one’s positions. Different case studies were also shared with the students which provided them with the kind of knowledge edge that often marks the difference between the winners and the also-rans.
