On Sunday, the 3rd April 2016, the college had arranged for a live screening of “T20 World Cup” finals. The two countries contesting were England and West Indies and hence, the enthusiasm in the student community was missing. This was reflected in the limited attendance. However, those who had come were genuine cricket enthusiasts. A giant LED screen with excellent acoustics, DJ, fancy lights and a professional anchor in association with Oppo made the evening memorable.
It all began with a cricket quiz and the winners were handed out Oppo T-shirts. There was also a selfie corner where students could take their photographs. The anchor kept interacting with the crowd to make the screening all the more interesting. The DJ added colour by playing peppy numbers during the intervals that occurred during the game. The dancing lights created an ambiance of a fest. Altogether, it was a very exciting evening. Present on the occasion was Prof.Dilip Shah, the Dean of student’s affairs who remarked that “had team India been in the finals the event would have been absolutely electrifying.”
Overall it was a Spectacular display of Cricket and an Amazing Win for West Indies! No one imagined except Brathwaite and Samuels to turn the victory to their side in the last over. Hats off to the man who hit four consecutive sixes and created the unforgettable moments of joy for the spectators. It was an enjoyable match with an exciting ending!
