The campaign kicked off on September 19th, with volunteers conducting cleanliness drives in different areas around the college. The team worked tirelessly, covering various locations, and collecting a significant number of single-use plastics. On the final day, October 2nd, the team conducted a cleanliness drive at Ramkrishnapur Ghat, Howrah, on Mahalaya. This drive marked the culmination of the campaign.
– 100 volunteers participated in the campaign, demonstrating their commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
– The team collected approximately 280kg of single-use plastics, making a significant impact on reducing plastic waste.
– The campaign covered multiple areas around the college, promoting cleanliness and raising awareness about proper waste disposal.
The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign was a resounding success, driven by the tireless efforts of 100 dedicated student volunteers. Not only did the campaign collect a significant amount of single-use plastics, but it also raised awareness about cleanliness and sanitation, leaving a lasting impact on the community. A special thanks to Prof. Gargi for her unwavering commitment in planning and executing the event.
We are also proud to announce that, out of 438 colleges with NSS units in Bengal, only 25—including Bhawanipur Education Society College—were selected to receive the Central Government’s Swachhata Hi Seva financial grant! This achievement stands as a testament to the outstanding dedication and reputation our faculty and students have built with the NSS Department of West Bengal. Well done, team!
