“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts”. The Dean of Student Affairs, Bhawanipur Education Society College, Professor Dilip Shah, to inaugurate his speech remarked that the lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to success later. Hailing his opening speech the senior students welcomed the bunch of fresh buds once again for the event named ‘SUCCESS MANTRA’ in Jubilee Hall at 4:00 pm. The chief guest for the event was Dr Parimal Merchant, Director of S P Jain School of Global Management for Globally Managed Family Business Program. Professor Dilip Shah felicitated Dr Merchant with a memento as a token of honour for his outstanding contribution in the field of management.
Having felicitated Dr Merchant, the honourable Dean set forth a number of achievements acquired by Mr Merchant who has been teaching for the last 27 years after completing his B.Com from Mumbai University, PH.D from BITS Pilani, ICWAI from AICWAI and B.G.L from Mumbai University. Professor Dilip Shah’s intention by enumerating the feats Dr Merchant has been submitting persistently was to encourage the students to adapt perseverance, for this being the very first step to success and with this he passed the mike on to Dr Merchant.
“The older I get, the more I realize the value of privacy, of cultivating your circle and include only those who deserve to be entered into that circle. You can be open, honest and real while still understanding the fact that everyone doesn’t deserve to be seated at the table of your life”, quoted Dr Merchant while spreading words of wisdom. According to him, to be successful in life does not mean to acquire a number of degrees & certificates only; one needs to find an aim and an idol in life as well. Having an aim and talking about it only will remain a dream, once we start to envision it, it seems possible and if we can schedule our aim, it is real. Success is the ability that makes one accustomed to the practice to go from one failure to another without losing enthusiasm. “Morally speaking, an idiot with a plan can beat a genius without a plan. Failure thrashes hard if we set our goals ridiculously high, hence we should aim sensibly. Over confident people finding the path to success too comfortable should immediately move on and those who are afraid and nervous to take the next leap, are assured to be on the right track”, with these real life advice and moral preaching he ended his speech wishing all the students best wishes for their bright and beautiful future.
The event came to the conclusion with a vote of thanks by Professor Dilip Shah.
