Fashion in its true sense is an ever-evolving concept and at the Bhawanipur College, it is made sure that the students are catching up with the times. The workshop on Red Carpet Fashion was organized on the 18th of July 2023 from 1:30 pm onwards in the BBA building of the Bhawanipur College campus. The workshop had as its facilitator, Ms. Henna Parimoo, Department Lead, School of Fashion at Pearl Academy. Ms. Parimoo is a senior fashion stylist & creative consultant with a decade of experience within the fashion industry in UK & India. The workshop began with the question of whether are clothes the only thing that defines fashion.
With such engaging thoughts, Ms. Parimoo discussed the intricacies of the fashion industry by highlighting the difference between fashion designing and fashion styling, where the color scheme is the first idea to think of when talking about fashion. She pointed out the idea that people often think of the fashion industry as less volatile while in reality there is an unprecedented risk associated with the space. If the style and design are not liked by the masses, then all the effort can go in vain. It was interesting to know all that goes into curating and styling an individual for an event, and that it is not just the apparel but also the overall body type of a person.
The session ended with a final Q & A session where the speaker engaged with the students after the session, giving them answers specific to the fashion industry. The audience was intrigued about the fashion industry and were keen to take apply the gained knowledge ahead in their career in this industry. Almost 60 students were present for the event that happened in the BBA Auditorium. Students of BDA also participated enthusiastically.
