The Department of Commerce (Morning Section) in collaboration with the I.Q.A.C of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized the 6th edition of the “Calculator Secrets” seminar with Professor Vivek Patwari on Thursday, 11th of May, 2023. The seminar started at 10:30 am and went on for approximately 2 hrs. The event was a huge success with more than 250 participants, including students and faculty members.
The event was introduced by the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, who expressed his excitement about the seminar and commended Professor Patwari for his contributions to the field of Commerce. He also announced upcoming Career Connect Courses and Commerce Lab 3.0. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Department of Commerce (Morning Section) helped in the successful organization of the event. The seminar covered various tips and tricks that can be used to perform complex mathematical calculations using a regular calculator.
The students were provided with a hard copy of the techniques that were covered during the seminar. Additionally, the students were given a PDF of 30 practical illustrations related to the techniques, which will further aid their understanding of the concepts.
The response from the participants was overwhelming. The students were highly engaged throughout the seminar and asked several questions to clarify their doubts. They appreciated the unique teaching style of Professor Patwari, which made complex concepts easy to understand. The faculty members also found the seminar highly informative and useful in their teaching practices.
As a token of appreciation, the students were provided certificates for their participation in the seminar. The Teacher in Charge, Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay, also attended the event and appreciated the efforts put in by Professor Patwari and the organizers to make the seminar a great success.
In conclusion, the session on “Calculator Secrets” was a great success, and it provided valuable insights to the participants on how to use calculators effectively.
