The Bhawanipur Education Society College celebrated the 71st Republic day with all enthusiasm on 26th January 2020 at college turf. The day was dedicated to the freedom fighter, Rash Behari Bose who at the time of freedom struggle was one of the youngest martyrs of the Indian independence movement.
The national flag was hoisted by Sri Champaklal Doshi the President of the Society. This was followed by the national anthem. Prof. Suman K Mukerjee, Director General of the college, spoke at length on the relevance of republic day. He underscored the need to break out from the shackles of individualism and embrace the nation collectively for a greater common good. Prof Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs of the college explained the core values that the Republic of India stands for before leading the assembled gathering into the reading of the Preamble. This was followed by the ICSE students and the unit of NCC who displayed a smart march past as they saluted the flag and the President.
The students portrayed their nationalism and the message of unity through their dance performances and songs. The Crescendo team of the college through their songs also gave a beautiful message of patriotism. Quiz rounds was conducted by Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi a faculty member of the college on the Indian Constitution. Self-defence was displayed through a quick show by the students who are learning Kick boxing. They also displayed their skills by breaking tiles.
Tricolour flags were provided to all present as a mark of the occasion and all the dignitaries were felicitated by draping of uttariyo that proudly sported the Saffron, White and the Green. Sri Miraj D Shah, the Sr. Vice President of the Society was felicitated by the students of the college. Dr Suman K Mukherjee was adjudged the best dressed male among the teachers and Smith Karolia was adjudged the best dressed male student whereas the best dressed female was adjudged to Ms Mou Banerjee ( teacher of ISC dept. ) and Ms Divya P. Udeshi ( member of the Dean’s office ) by members of the management Smt. Renuka Bhatt & Smt. Nalini Parekh.
