The Department of Chemistry of The Bhawanipur Education Society College was arranged an educational industrial visit of Mother Dairy Calcutta, Dankuni, Hooghly, West Bengal 712310 on 11th September, 2019 for the students of 3rd yr Hons and 3rd yr Gen. (1+1+1-09), SEM-I(H) and SEM-III(H) under CBCS 2019. On behalf of the chemistry department we are very much thankful to mother dairy for giving us an opportunity to be a part of esteem organization and enhance our knowledge by granting permission to do our industrial visit with the students.
Our placement co-ordinator Mr. Subhash Khan provided us the invaluable guidance and support during the course of visit. On arrival we were given a hearty welcome by our tour coordinator at Dankuni plant and were led to the conference room where we had a session on milk industry and the how dairy products produced in Dankuni plant. He explained the profile, aims and objectives of the mother dairy industry. Mother Dairy markets and sells various milk products and other food items at national level like Liquid Milk, Curd, Lassi, Ice-Cream, Flavoured Milk, Paneer, Butter, etc. In the Dankuni plant produces mainly Liquid Milk, Curd, Paneer.
The visit turned out to be a great learning and enriching experience. Students were absolutely thrilled after visiting the plant. Our tour coordinator showed the students how milk was processed – clarification, standardization, homogenization and pasteurization. We were also taken to the milk packaging section which was totally automated and fascinating to know the procedure. The students also witnessed the entire manufacturing process and its packaging of paneer and curd. Lots of our doubts and misconceptions were cleared after this interesting visit to the mothe dairy plant. At the end of the visit we had a nice lunch at their staff canteen and they provided a complementary Misti-doi to our students from their end. The department of chemistry, The BESC was successfully completed the industrial visit as per the company norms and regulations.
On 20th October 2016, BESC organised an industrial visit to Skipper Limited, leading manufacturers of PVC pipes. About 40 students of Commerce Plus and YI along with Prof. Vijay Kothari visited the manufacturing unit at Uluberia.
