On 15th February 2025, The Bhawanipur Education Society College successfully hosted its first Intra-College Powerlifting Championship in collaboration with the West Bengal Powerlifting Association. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 67 students, including 22 girls and 45 boys, competing in two categories: bench press and deadlift.
The championship was inaugurated by Prof. Dilip Shah, The Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, who highlighted the importance of strength sports and motivated participants to perform their best. The presence of the chief guest, Ms. Sampa Guha—affectionately known as the ‘Madam of Powerlifting’—lent prestige to the event. Ms. Guha, a sub-inspector with the Kolkata Police Force and a celebrated powerlifting champion, attended with her team of professional referees and trainers from the West Bengal Powerlifting Association.
The competition included five weight categories for both girls and boys:
Boys: 66, 74, 83, 93, and 105+
Girls: 47, 52, 57, 63, and 76+

47kg: Madiha Imtiaz (1st), Ariba Siddiqui (2nd)

76kg: Taiba Malik (1st), Dayamanti Choudhary (2nd), Swarnim Jaiswal (3rd)
