The Department of Management of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, with these views in mind set forward to organize an Industrial Visit to none other than Patton International Limited, Uluberia on the bright day of 16th March, 2023. PATTON is a renowned Conduit Fittings and EMT Fittings manufacturer and exporter with government-recognized export house status and an ISO 9001:2015 certification. With five cutting-edge, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities spread across 700,000 square feet in West Bengal, India, they are also a market leader in the production of plastic tanks, crates, bins, and PVC pipes. The Department Head for the Bachelor of Business Administration, Dr. Tridib Sengupta, organised the industrial visit with assistance from Professor Chiranjib Mitra, a faculty member of the same department. At 9:30 am, the pre-arranged bus departed campus with approximately 40 students and two faculty members. On the way, food packages for breakfast were provided. .The bus arrived at Patton Industry after travelling for nearly one hour and thirty minutes. The Patton executive team then greeted us and divided the students into two groups and escorted them to separate conference rooms for a brief introduction period. The Patton International limited, this industry was previously located in Falta but recently they have opened a new industry in Ulubeia. There products generally gets exported internationally i.e., Europe, U.S., Canada, North and South America etc. The Managing Director and the expert team of the industry directed us through the entire visit and started explaining to the students how their products i.e., EMT Plant and Zinc product are being made. Firstly aluminium products goes through the conversion process, it is being melted into pipes and then gets into the process of cutting, shaping, rolling, compressing and resizing, stamping, piercing and drawing . After this it goes through the alkaline base cleaner to remove the oil and rust form the product as follows;
Soak solution change.
Bannel solution change.
Rack zinc fill up and tank cleaning.
All water rinse.
Acid pickling clean.
All bannel for zinc fill up.
Then the products goes through the die-casting, testing process and then to the assembly for packaging and being dispatched through automatic as well as by manually. Containers are dispatched to Khidderpore Dock/ Haldia. The Mission of Patton is to provide environmental friendly manufacturing safe and sustainable precision products, reducing carbon footprint by embracing green engineering. They Vision to expand their global footprint and become the global market leaders and to make the difference in their industry and society. As a forward-looking, forward-thinking company, Patton Group has been doing its bit by adopting green practices, taking on green projects, and launching Embracing Green – Patton’s sustainability vertical. Through Rainwater Harvesting, Groundwater Recharging, Water on Wheels (Roller Tanks), Solar Rooftop Projects, and our safety initiative to combat COVID-19 – the Contactless Safe Wash Station – Patton industry feels happy to be implementing water conservation solutions that will lead them to becoming a water positive community. After nearly two hours of thorough touring the industry, students returned to the conference room where they were served a vegetarian buffet for lunch. Following lunch, the Department Head, faculty members and all of the students gathered in front of the industry for a group photo.
