The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society celebrated this auspicious occasion of our 69 year of Independence with great enthusiasm at the college campus. It is great and most significant day for all Indians.
Independence Day is a day when people in India pay homage to leaders and those who fought for India’s freedom in the past. And in the same vein this time our college has decided to remember one of the greatest sons of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
As Dr Kalam Says;
“My message, especially to young people is to have courage to think differently, courage to invent, to travel the unexplored path, courage to discover the impossible and to conquer the problems and succeed. These are great qualities that they must work towards. This is my message to the young people”
He also says to let your dreams fly high in fact he says that dreams are not what we see when we are asleep, rather they are what does not let us sleep.
The campus was decorated with Kites to symbolize the free spirit of students rising high to meet the skies. “Let your imagination and ambition soar but May you be grounded in the realities of the present and transcend all difficulties in your path to success”, was the message from the President Sri Champaklal A Doshi to all the students.
The programme started off with a resplendent march past performed by a brigade of neatly dressed school students to the rhythmic percussion of drums, followed by the flag hoisting by the management. Students enjoyed the spectacular sight of setting a bunch of tricolour helium balloons free in the sky.
The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by a brief speech on India and it’s Development over the span of these 69 years and shortly after the speech, a statue of Late Ex president of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, The Missile man of India, was unveiled which was made by a student from the college Arnab.
It was followed by a cultural programme by school students , an act on secularism by the members of the college collective “ENACT”, dance presentations by the college collective “FLAMES”. The special attraction of the whole two and a half hour long programme was a vibrant performance by the Gujarati section illustrating the Dandi March.
The decoration and a poster making competition on the theme, was organised by the collective “VIGNETTE”. Overall it was a magnificent display of national flavor and patriotism.
