Activities recognised by educational institutions which are not part of the academic curriculum but are acknowledged to be an essential part of the life has become utmost necessity in today’s time. The Bhawanipur Educational Society College has always prioritised holistic development by not only confining itself to into the academic field but prioritising the co-curricular field to and has started regular dance classes for their students of Flames (dance collective of the college), simultaneously with academic classes from November 25th maintaining all covid guidelines and proper sanitization practices.
The classical dance classes are being taken by the renowned Odissi and Bharatnatyam dancer Guru Sanchaita Munshi Saha, where the students are taught and made familiar with the basics of classical dance with choreographies on shlokas madras and adavus and Indian classical music.
The western dance classes are being trained by Anurag Ghosh, Rahul Roy Chowdhury, Dimitri Deb Das, Roshan Banerjee and Siddharth Basu Roy, the members of the very famous dance crew Crafts of Kammotion (C.K.N) who teach the students the basic styles like hip hop, locking, popping, break dance and many more. They are also being taught dance routines on various western, bollywood and fusion songs.
Bollywood style is an all-time favourite of every individual irrespective of the person being a dancer or a non-dancer. The College appreciates this keen interest of their students and effectively organises for its students regular Bollywood classes. Gaurav Bindra and Deborshee Dasgupta, making every Bollywood step easy for the students and stage ready with the Bollywood numbers. Amidst the gloomy pandemic atmosphere, the Bollywood dance classes act as a welcome stress buster.
Thus, the college provides limitless opportunities to let students shine and help them identify and develop their inner talents.
