“If you have the words there’s always a chance that you’ll find expressions”. In this age of routine bound monotony, expressions are the relief, a balm to get rid of brainstorming. With an intention to instigate and indulge among the students the drive to explore the world around with the help of expressions, Bhawanipur Education Society College arranged “Expressions Induction” on August 9, 2019 from 11:00am onwards in “The Placement Hall”. Professor Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs welcomed the 50 odd students who had trooped their way into hall and were given a fair idea about what this collective stands for. In his opening speech, Professor Shah called the Expression Collective as the forth pillar of democracy in BESC. It is the collective through which students weave their path for Journalism and Mass Communication.
Rajarshi Das, an ex member of the collective, introduced the students what this collective is all about. “It is the act of saying what you think or showing how you feel using words or actions.”One by one the collective representatives came up on the stage and highlighted that the collective caters into all the areas that a student can excel. The primary rules to write a report and the photographs to be used in the report are discussed thoroughly. After the long discourse all the aspiring photographers were taken to Kumortuli for photowalking.
Things discussed in the induction were future workshops on content writing, photo exhibition and reporting events. The students were also assured of the fact that this is one such collective that not only provides them full exposure to their creativity but also an endeavour to set up the paradigm that Bhawanipur Education Society College has been surpassing each year. Shouvik Das & Shreyanshu Mishra( photography), Bansari Hindocha & Nikita Mittal( reporting) were introduced to the students for further query and thus concluded their speech with a thanks giving note to all and sundry.
