Crescendo, the music collective of the Bhawanipur Education Society College, is, however, the most vibrant collective, students crave to join in, although the heroes who helm the baton of symphony choose to remain behind the curtain. They do not crave for fame, because accolades chase them for the kind of rendition they produce for almost all the high profile events. Each and every year a number of students are introduced with the number of collectives that the Institution offers. This year as well, on 29th July, 2019, ‘The Jubilee Hall’ was thronged with nearly 278 students from all sections. The number of attendance proved what significance such induction holds.
To inaugurate the programme, The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dilip Shah, was welcomed by Shyam Prasad and Ramsha Tuba, the conductors of the event with an opening speech to infer to the students why they are being welcomed. The main speakers, Shyam Prasad, Ramsha Tuba, Anjali Dubey, Samrat Ghosh ( Collective Representative) introduced the students to the eighteen collectives and Crescendo being one of them which includes music and singing. This year the theme was “Tunes tell tales too”. Shyam Prasad addressing the young enthusiasts jokingly remarked, “If the theme of Crescendo is so alliteratively musical, imagine how musical the collective will be”.
The speakers, successively, conveyed what Crescendo defines and whosoever is passionate about music and singing, is warmly welcome in the arena. The valves of unity and friendship can truly be found in the diverse performances, portrayed by the performers. Having found the ambience quite interactive the speakers further highlighted the fact that they organise a number of performances of diverse genres along with giving farewell to most senior members of Crescendo. They also talked about the high performance standards Crescendo delivers each time. The best part of the event was the enthusiasm of the newcomers who couldn’t wait more to join the collective with an aim to showcase their talents. The presence of Dr Parimal Merchant was a special attraction who spoke about how a person can be successful in pursuit of any skill or talent. The evening ended with performances by the old and new students of the college.
