The BESC family witnessed the much awaited “BHAWANIPUR DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY” on 16th September 2015, organized at the college pavillion. After a rigorous audition procedure, eighteen top participants were shortlisted and they competed against each other to ensnare the prestigious title and the dazzling golden trophy.
The programme was a tribute to the most influential celebutante of dance forms all over the world, the “King of Pop”, Michael Jackson and the man who’s popularly known as the “Elvis Presley of India”, Shammi Kapoor. Students clustered in uncurbed numbers to be a part of the much anticipated event. The event started off with a brief speech by Prof. Dilip Shah, The Dean of Students Affairs. Which was followed by the introduction of the judges by the host of the event, Sabiha Mehmood(a second year college student) .
The judges’ panel comprised celebrated young dancers like Mr. Sambo Mukherjee, Mr. Raj Shaw, Mr. Sangram Mukhopadhyay, Mr. Pratim Roy, Miss Shreya Sen and Mr. Harshvardhan Bhan. The dancers enthralled the crowd with their marvelous moves and the campus resonated with spirited songs. The judges added to the splendor of the event by showcasing their performances on diverse dance forms to much amazement of the audience. The prime spectacle of the evening was a guest performance by the renowned dance crew FULL STOP.
As the programme neared its end, the judges repeatedly admitted that it was tough for them to choose the top three amongst the eighteen amazing performances and finally they ended up declaring the result according to which the second runner’s up was Harsh Jain, first runner’s up Anish Mitra and the winner Aiyushi Singh. The winners were duly awarded and the programme concluded with everyone grooving to the peppy tracks played for amusement to celebrate the essence of dancing.
