The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) organised a unique Sports Camp to help students who refuse to leave the campus even during the so-called Summer vacations, sweltering heat and suspended classes notwithstanding. Workshops were organised between the 12th and the 14th of June in the Common Room of the college where about 90 students had professional coaches and instructors help them brush up their skills in Table Tennis, Pool, Darts and Indoor Golf. Chess and Carrom were also thrown in for good measure.
Piyush Bosamia taught the participants how to wield the cue to perfection, while Rupesh Gandhi and TanviRupani helped students hone their smashes and top spinners in TT. Akshay Mehta from Surat, (he represents India, no less) kept the participants on target in Darts and TanisqJulka explained the importance of just the right amount of push to ensure the perfect putt.
The workshops were followed up by individual championships on the 15th. Individual winners were provided certificates by Prof Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs who underscored the importance of sports and games in student’s lives, explaining how they help hone concentration, improve mind-body coordination and act as performance enhancers cum stress busters. Rupesh Gandhi, the coordinator of the camp was honoured for his untiring efforts to put the entire event on track.
The event was synchronised by Koyel Guha, Karan Mundra, Deepak kr Shaw and Rahul Baheti.
After the successful completion of Be-ites Futsal Championship at the college turf, the college organised BBT i.e. BE-ites Badminton Tournament, a BESC intra college doubles, mix doubles and girls team badminton tournament. Inauguration of BBT was held on 23rd of April 2016. The tournament continued for 10 days involving 36 teams. Altogether 30 matches were played in this …
