On the 5th of September 2023, the day was brimming with teachers’ being celebrated in the light of Teachers’ Day. The day unfolded at The Bhawanipur Education Society College, with those who illuminate the lives of innumerable students. This day was dedicated to the esteemed educators, who have left an indelible mark on the life of the students.
The event commenced at 9:30 am in the Jubilee Hall & the day was thoughtfully divided into two parts, allowing us to extend a warm welcome to the various departments of our cherished institution. Under the nostalgic theme of the Black & White era, a spellbinding wave of retro moments washed over the gathering. The festivities commenced with classical dance, which was an invocation to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, setting the stage for an engaging and light-hearted affair.
The event began with a whimsical activity, where attendees had the delightful task of taking the attendance of teachers present thereby evoking fond memories of their own alma mater. The event commenced with a musical performance by Crescendo on the theme of 90’s songs. This was followed by the student volunteers performing a Bollywood dance on the stage on the jovial grounds of celebration. Following this, everyone was treated to a heartwarming speech by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah, whose joy at watching students put on a great show resonated deeply with all present there. He emphasized the importance of celebrating the life force that teachers bring into our lives.
One performance that stood out was a silent play, skillfully executed by the Enact collective. This poignant portrayal of the teacher-student relationship left an indelible mark, connecting with the hearts of both educators and students alike. As the day progressed, a lively musical quiz game ensued, where our revered teachers were challenged to guess songs of the black-and-white era of Bollywood. It was heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm with which our teachers participated, by singing as the crowd cheered all along.
The day then saw mesmerizing performances by Flames Eastern Collective, self-composed poetry on the importance of Teachers, a theme-based fashion walk on the era of the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan & lastly the Flames Bollywood Western setting up the stage for a thrilling performance on several numbers. The last part of the event was kept for teachers who performed songs of the 90’s enthralling the audience and keeping them at the edge of their seats.
The morning celebration concluded with a speech by Dr. Suman Mukerjee, who gave students the end notes of the celebration. The evening session saw innumerable students cheering their teachers as they performed & thanked them individually for their constant guidance. The thank you note in the evening was given by TIC, Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay, VP of Arts, Ms. Debjani Ganguly, Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar V.P Science Department. The essence of the entire day was meticulously crafted to bring joy and happiness to the faces of our teachers. Their presence was not just appreciated but celebrated, serving as a testament to the profound impact they have on our lives. In closing, everyone remembered that teachers are the guiding stars of our educational journey and this day’s celebration was a small token of our immense gratitude for the light they bring into our lives.
