The communiqué 22 was yet another way to reach all the students from The Bhawanipur Education Society College was held on May 17 and 18 from 10:30 am onwards. The fest witnessed 11 events with 14 colleges, namely St. Xaviers University, Amity University, Scottish Church College, Jd Birla Institute,The Heritage College etc. and had around 100+ participants and over 300 eyeballs on an average. It was at that time of the year where the youth wore their creativity on their sleeves. This year with all the enthusiasm it was totally conducted in-person.
Communiqué is unique, it’s one of its kind, exhibiting debate, stress interview, improv, paperkraft etc. BESC is not only the most celebrated institution in search of academic excellence but also one of the places where the students expand the horizon of possibilities and are living examples of creativity that is empowered to achieve all that is desired.
The quote of our organisation committee was “We believe in teamwork by taking the whole team along.” The vision behind the committee was to face all the challenges together and make it happen and worthwhile attributed by our Dean of student affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah and the curator of the event Mr.Pranab Mukherjee.
Some of the events of the fest were –
Speakeasy Extempore was an excellent way to assist the students not only in spontaneous thinking but also in asserting their creative ideas with precision. The competition was conducted in two rounds, first where 3 students from each institution participated and then the final round where one student from each institution qualified.
The judge for the event was Mr. Pranab Mukherjee. There were different topics for different institutions which were given on the spot. The participants delivered their speeches with great confidence and left no stone unturned to give in their best on the topics they got. They were asked to present their views in the time slot of 3 minutes. They were judged on the criteria of content, fluency, voice modulation and body language. The students showed great fervour and poise in their respective presentations.
To develop the ability to analyse controversies, select and evaluate evidence, construct and refute arguments.
Block & Tackle ‘Block and Tackle’ Competition was conducted on May 18 from 9:30 am onwards. Block and Tackle was basically a stand-out event from the conventional form of Debate where the contestants have to Block (Talk in against of the topic given) and Tackle (Talk in favour of the topic given). After the participants enrolled themselves, they were asked to speak where the topics were given on stage. The game was all about the quick use of wit and presence of mind and the contestants truly did an amazing job. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee judged the event on their arguments and flexibility to switch ideas.
Wordsworth A stress interview was a path used to put applicants under outrageous tension. They were intended to test one’s capacity to think directly on their feet, react proficiently in troublesome circumstances and remain quiet in a pressurized domain. The number of participants per institution was four. The participants were asked to carry their Curricular Vitae and each member was given a time duration of 4 minutes. The judge for this event was Mr. Gautam Bajoria. It started at around 3:30 pm and continued till 6:30pm.
Inquizzitive “Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes us great.”
Keeping in mind the resonance of the above-mentioned words, The Bhawanipur college organized an inter-quiz competition on May 18 from 1:30 The event was conducted by the college’s Quiz team to encourage students to gain general knowledge, apart from subject knowledge event was conducted by the college’s Quiz team to encourage students to gain general knowledge, apart from subject knowledge. Newspaper designing Paper kraft was held on 17th May, 2022. The event was about newspaper designing. The event took place at the college library, it started around 11am and ended at 1pm. Students from different colleges came to participate, two participants per team were allowed. Participants were given various topics on the spot and they could choose one and research and work on it. They were required to design a tabloid containing one major event, two minor events and an advertisement. The participants did the assignment on their laptops they were given two hours’ time. They were judged on their creative and critical designing and writing skills.
The Quill The Quill was held on 17th May, 2022. The event started from 1:30pm till 2:30pm. The event was about creative writing. Students from different colleges came to participate, two participants per team were allowed. One participant participated in poetry and the other one at prose. The topics were provided 15 minutes prior to the participants to start off the event. They were judged on their creative writing skills.
What Izz! What Izz was held on 18th May, 2022. The event started around 11.30am and ended at 12.30pm. The event was about verteez. Students from different colleges came to participate in it. One student was allowed per college. In this event, the participants were required to guess important personalities after hearing a brief narration about the personality from the moderator.
Real vox Each participant had the right to ask five questions to the moderator to get some more clues to answer. But the moderator only replied with a ‘yes’ and ‘no’. They were judged according to their answers and the winner was decided by the means of a point tabulation system handled by the judges.
