If you are to go visit a place in the ever-so-crowded Kolkata, how would you go there? Will you spend a fortune by taking a taxi? Or will you take a bus or a metro… perhaps a tram? To reach the destination is not an issue but the amount of income you allot towards travelling certainly is!
Therefore to test the thrift of students, Umang’14 decided to host an event called ‘Transport yourself: Manage your travel solution’. Thirteen two member teams were given a total of Rs.500 to reach various destinations and make it back before five in the evening. Their phones and wallets were seized. Some of the destinations were Birla Planetarium, Star Theatre, Lords More and Bhawanipur Cemetery. The team to visit most places while saving an ample amount of money would be crowned the winners. And “bhaggurians”, you just guessed it- it was Bhawanipur all the way.
The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) signed a memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI).
